Lecturer:

Prof. Shoham Choshen-Hillel (Hebrew University)

Title:

Big little lies: A behavioral perspective on dishonesty in everyday life and in science

Abstract:

In this talk, I will review the central (and replicable) empirical findings on human lying behavior. I will present theories from social psychology and behavioral economics that try to account for the observed tendencies and explain why people lie, and why they do not lie more. I will end by presenting two cases of fraud that have been recently detected in the work of prominent researchers of dishonesty, and discuss fraudin science.
